It fits between two fingers and goes everywhere. Its close-set teeth reach dead hair where a brush stops at the surface. It is the tool we use most at home, so it is in every kit.

How to brush your cat.

Brushing reduces hair around the home and the hairballs swallowed during grooming. The right rhythm depends on the coat.

1×a week

For a short-haired cat, in normal times.

2–3×a week

During shedding, in spring and autumn, whatever the coat.

Dailya few minutes

For a long-haired cat, to prevent knots.

In what order?

  1. Detangle: start with the wide side of the comb, or the dematting tool for a long coat.
  2. Remove dead hair: use the slicker brush or the small fine comb, always in the direction of the hair.
  3. Finish: the finishing brush or the glove smooths the coat and picks up the last hairs.

Keep sessions short, at a calm moment, and end with a treat: your cat will associate brushing with a good time.

And the claws?

  1. Gently press the paw pad to extend the claw.
  2. Spot the pink part inside: it contains blood vessels and must never be cut.
  3. Only trim the clear tip, in one clean cut.

Never cut a knot with scissors close to the skin. If in doubt, or if a knot won’t come undone, ask your vet or a groomer for advice.

Tested at home, on our two cats.

POUFFY PET was born from a very concrete problem: living with a short-haired cat and a cat with an extremely thick coat.

Every tool in the kits was first used at home, on both of them. We only kept the ones that really made a difference.

The Short Hair Kit brings together everything you need for a complete grooming session. For quick daily care, the 3-in-1 kit is often enough: the glove for the coat, the small fine comb for dead hair.

And for a long-haired cat?

The Long Hair Kit, with its detangling and undercoat tools. A long coat tangles quickly: a few minutes of regular brushing prevents knots.

Does the glove replace a brush?

For everyday care, yes: it collects surface hair and most cats happily accept it. For the undercoat and during shedding, a slicker brush or a comb goes deeper.

How do I clean the tools?

Remove the hair after each session, then rinse with clean water and let air-dry before putting away.
